Taking the place previously occupied by a center of the street Indian restaurant in Rokeby Road, Joes Wine and Dine has set itself as a bar, restaurant and stay music venue including one other string to Subiaco’s sluggish rebuild of its reputation as a hospitality vacation spot.
With areas opening out onto the road entrance, in addition to quite a lot of rooms contained in the meandering constructing, there are many locations to take a seat again and eat and drink – we ended up In the room clearly arrange for music with a bandstand and audio system in the direction of the entrance – in addition to what seems to be false garden on a few of the partitions!
Anyway, the meals and drink was what we have been there for – slightly too early for any music once we dropped in. The wine record is fairly spectacular – a very good vary of worth factors, varieties, areas – each Australian and worldwide – and types – with a sound by the glass choice.
We ordered a bottle of Larry Cherubino’s Ad Hoc Pip rosé – made out of Grenache – pale pink with cherry and musky aromas, the dry palate underpinned with fantastic acid and flavours of raspberries and pomegranates. Just the ticket with our meals decisions.
The menu once more is in depth – serving breakfast, lunch and dinner – with a variety of smaller dishes – what they time period tapas – in addition to bigger mains – all once more fairly properly priced. It was lunchtime for us so three of the tapas fashion plates seemed like it will do us – and they did.
Starting with salmon tostadas – three small delicate tortilla slathered with guacamole and topped with lime marinated salmon and a splash of salmon caviar – nice little mouthfuls.
Togarashi squid subsequent – squid items marinated with paprika, cumin and brown sugar earlier than frying – accompanied by delicate wasabi mayo – the squid was tender, crispy, the flavour combo labored for us – a variation on the ever present salt and pepper squid.
Finally, and our favorite , tiger prawn muffins – deep fried crisped desserts, filled with chopped prawns, pimped up with chilli and coriander, and with namjim sauce for dipping. These have been excellent fish muffins certainly.
From our temporary go to Joe’s appears to be heading in the right direction – the set-up is welcoming and snug, the wine record excellent and the meals nicely priced and with fascinating selection. Certainly value dropping in.
