The meals all the time impresses at Sauma, my decide as one of many prime Indian eating places across the traps, and our current lunch did nothing to dissuade me from that opinion. The meals is properly turned out –the spices built-in and complementing one another and the components, the eating space properly fitted out and the waiters welcoming.
One of the prerequisites I feel is the pan puri – a great sized fried and puffed puri served with coriander, cumin, tamarind, mint and chilli – pour the sauce in and in a single chew demolish it – wonderful and an ideal aperitif!
Then we received into our different dishes – a superb seafood curry – filled with fish, prawns, clams, squid and mussels, cooked in a creamy, tomato and chilli based mostly Madras fashion sauce, with a bit little bit of chilli warmth to spark the style buds. This is a reasonably substantial serve so we have been joyful to accompany it with a few salads.
The cauliflower and chickpea salad additionally had tomatoes, pickled cucumber and greens – yoghurt sauce splashed over it. Refreshing and I’m positive healthful!
A plate of combined greens with coriander and chilli French dressing rounded out our meal – oh and rice in fact and naturally a really gratifying garlic naan – the breads listed here are wonderful.
Mr Mick rosé was our selection of beverage and as all the time hit the spot, fragrant and crisp, nicely suited to accompany the spice of India.
Once once more our opinion of Sauma was vindicated – prime notch Indian delicacies – and easily one of many best round.
