Padburys is housed in one among Guildford’s most historic buildings which a few years in the past was the primary purchasing vacation spot of individuals from throughout the district – Padbury’s Stores. Now it provides one of many city’s higher eating locations. And it is extremely near our house making it much more engaging.
Licenced with a small however properly put collectively listing and from this we ordered a bottle of Swan Valley maker Torrent’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon– a clean straightforward consuming wine with aromas of blackcurrant and plum, flavours of mocha, blackberries and mulberries on the palate. As it stated on the bottle “perfetto!”
Looking over the menu we went for twice cooked cheese soufflé and a really wintery dish of braised lamb shank.
The latter was a really hearty dish – the lamb very tender, sliding off the bone, sitting on a mattress of creamy Paris mash, accompanied by steamed greens – carrot, peas, broccoli, all retaining a lovely crunch, with peppery gravy so as to add extra oomph.
My soufflé – created from blue cheese, was fluffy and lightweight with a browned prime, served with recent inexperienced salad and shaved parmesan – a really properly turned out meal.
Another nice and satisfying go to to Padburys – good meals and wine, in a heat and alluring room. With pleasant, chatty and professional waiters. Well value a go to.
