It has been a yr since Yefsi opened and it was time for a re-visit – it’s within the constructing in Newcastle Street that homes Attika Hotel above it and has since our preliminary go to, has gained a liquor licence. First up – chickpea fritters –once more crisp skinned, nutty and earthy filling – Greek salad with a big rectangle of feta having delight of place, squeaky grilled haloumi and pita. An excellent sized feast of Greek meals which could be added to with a skewer of grilled meat or greens – we handed on this event. – very gratifying.
The squid was as we recalled – superbly tender however retained a lovely al dente texture, with a light-weight char and was served with peppery rocket, onion, salty, creamy yoghurt and a sprinkle of minimize chilli so as to add a zipper and zing. And it was a scorching chilli, too! Excellent.
A complementary plate of fried saganaki – crumbly and creamy contained in the crisped pores and skin – with a squeeze of lemon, helped us by means of the stays of our wine.
We have been happy to return to Yefsi, good high quality Greek impressed meals, nice surrounds, pleasant employees – and if that rosé, all to the great.
